Any student with a cumulative GPA (grade point average) below 2.0 is on academic probation and must complete Project Success.  Any student on academic probation for two or more semesters, whether consecutive or not, is dismissed from the University and must apply for reinstatement if they wish to continue at Illinois State.  For more information regarding probation and reinstatement, please contact the Office of Enrollment Management and Academic Services at (309)438-7100.

How do I apply to my major?

Major applications are accepted by most schools and departments during February and September.  For more information on specific requirements for your intended major, including application dates and prerequisites, visit the Find Your Major Web site.  To apply to your major, log into iCampus, and, under the “My Info” tab, select the link “Apply to Your Major,” and follow the instructions.

How do I withdraw from a class?

If you wish to drop a course within the first ten days of the semester, you may do so by accessing the “Course registration” link in iCampus.  After the tenth day of the semester and before the mid-semester point, you may withdraw from a class by presenting your student ID in the Student Services and Referral Center in Moulton 107.  For more information on the withdrawal policy and to view the academic calendar, please contact the Student Services and Referral Center at (309)438-2188.

If you are considering withdrawing from a course, it is highly recommended you discuss your options with your academic advisor before doing so, as it may impact your plan of study, major status, and financial aid.

Where can I get a catalog?

You should have received your catalog either during Preview or the Transfer Day Program.  If you did not receive a catalog or no longer have your catalog, a limited number of replacement catalogs may be available in the Student Services and Referral Center in Moulton 107.  You can also access a pdf version of your undergraduate catalog on the Illinois State Web site.

I have an acadmic advisement block on my account.  What does that mean?

University College Academic Advisement considers the academic advising process a vital component of a student's academic success at Illinois State University.  In order to ensure each student is on track to meet their individual academic and career goals, it is important to meet with an academic advisor on a regular basis.   A student may be blocked from registering for the upcoming semester if they have not sufficiently communicated to their academic advisor their academic plan for the coming semesters.  If a student has an academic advisement block preventing them from registering for classes, they should contact their academic advisor by email or by calling 309-438-7604.
