As an adult learner or non-traditional student, Illinois State University realizes that you have many life experiences and perhaps serve in a multitude of roles that “traditional” students do not. You also face challenges that are unique to students who are not considered “traditional” college students – a student beginning at a college or university immediately following high school graduation.
Adult Learner Services provides general referrals to various campus support services and serves as an advocate for the needs of Illinois State’s Adult Learner students. As an Adult Learner, we intend to provide you with a personal connection to campus support groups such as the Women’s Mentoring Network.
Please remember to check the iCampus portal, your email, and U.S. mail for more information about upcoming events and important information. Event information can also be found on the University Calendar.
Please contact the Julia N. Visor Academic Center at (309) 438-7100 or via email at if you have questions or concerns.
Adult Learner Services has created a FaceBook group for adult learner/nontraditional students at Illinois State University! The group is a way for nontraditional students to discuss experiences, issues, find support, find out about events, and various other topics. To participate, log in to FaceBook or create an account and join the group "Nontraditional Students at Illinois State."
