Do I have to stay overnight?

Staying overnight in the residence hall is strongly encouraged for students and the vast majority stay.

Freshman Orientation is quite busy and can last until 10:30 p.m. on the first day and begins at 8:00 a.m. on the second day. The more a student is on campus, the more comfortable he or she will be easing the transition to Illinois State University. Even commuters report enjoying the overnight stay as a way to make friends.

Remember, all sessions are mandatory and if students stay off campus they need to ensure attendance at all sessions.
